VILLAGE LIFE -  THE LEONARD STANLEY ROLLERS
John and Rosemary Smith started short mat bowls (Leonard Stanley Rollers) in October 2008. They were given an old mat from a holiday camp they often visited. It stayed in the garage for years until it was mentioned in conversation. It then took over three months to organise. Finding a hall big enough was the main problem. Most of the people who turned up on the first day have stayed. We have all learnt and tried out different ways of doing things together. As quoted from a member "Its more of a social club with a bit of bowling" We now have three mats but have limited numbers so a waiting list will be started after a couple more members start. We have had someone from Australia who was on holiday and members come from Cam and Minchinhamton. We play Wednesdays 9.30 am - 12.30 pm at the Scout Hut Downton Road.If you are interested in joining please ring Rosemary or John on 821315 or come along on the day. Refreshments are also available.
