NEWS - AA FRIENDLIEST LANDLADY OF THE YEAR 2007

The winner of the AA Friendliest Landlady of the Year award, judged by the AA's expert panel of inspectors and selected from a shortlist including14 other establishments, was Rosemary Reeves from the Grey Cottage, Leonard Stanley, Stonehouse.

Rosemary has been welcoming guests at her home since 1979. The Grey Cottage is a small 19th century stone Cotswold hose nestled in well- tendered gardens, from which Rosemary picks fresh flowers to display on the dining table and in guest rooms.

Genuine warmth and friendliness is the essence of this home from home- the highlights of any stay here. A visiting AA inspector commented, "On a rainy day, I was met at my car by Rosemary bearing an umbrella - she gently chided me for being rather tall". Rosemary welcomes guests  with tea, home made cake and open fires. Bedrooms are well appointed and boast a host of thoughtful extras. Breakfast and dinner, served in an elegant dining room, are all carefully prepared and turned into a very special experience.

Every effort is made by Rosemary to ensure visitors are made welcome and comfortable, and this winner takes great delight in setting and maintaining exemplary standards of hospitality and care at really good value.
